Paul founded Alper
Associates, Inc. in October, 1997 - a results driven, strategically
focused consulting practice dedicated to “helping companies perform
their bestSM”.
During several client
assignments he needed to be able to conduct meaningful market research
with family caregivers – to really understand their needs, concerns
and reactions to new products – but was unable to find any formal
panel with which to conduct the research.
A
self-confessed start up junkie, Paul, through Alper Associates, Inc.
decided to form The Caregiver’s Advisory Panel.
TCAP’s
purpose is to provide an
effective way for manufacturers, financial services companies and
education and information providers to gain understanding of and
insight into the needs, issues and concerns of family caregivers.
Paul Alper has a B.A.
in Biology from Boston University where he also did graduate work in
health care administration at the BU School of Management.
Paul resides with his
wife of 20 years and five children in Rhode Island. His other passions
include golf, music, film, photography and cooking.
His personal
caregiving experience includes over 7 years of long distance caregiving
for his mother, Rhoda who passed away in December, 1998. Paul, whose
father died in 1970, oversaw his mother’s care at home, where she
lived as a survivor of breast cancer and kidney disease; then later
heart disease. She spent from 1995 – 1997 at the Hebrew Home for the
Aged in Riverdale, New York with Paul as an active participant in her
care planning in addition to seeing her through multiple surgeries and
dialysis.
